As a secular mindfulness practitioner, Sarah started "A Mindful Shutterbug Project" in 2013. The aim of this project is to use an interpretive photographic language to bring the audience into the subjective experiences of the photographer. The process consists of taking a mindful walk. Stopping. Closing your eyes. Breathing. Being present in the moment. And, then when the time is right, opening your eyes and seeing what you first become aware of at that moment. The method to capture the moment is through your camera lens. Photographs within this collection have not been distorted or digitally altered.
